To be determined

The expression, To be determined, implies a future event that will indeed take place, but that lacks precision, the exact details of which are yet to be defined. But it also evokes a state of mind, a hyper-focalisation on a well-identified but uncertain objective, surrounded by obstacles and hindrances, an obsessive stubbornness to achieve one's goal despite everything.

Sports analytics attempts to bridge the gap. It is the discipline where machines capture athletes within oceans of data to both forsee the future and augment the efficiency of their spectacularly goal-driven bodies. But it also feeds into the troubling economics of gamblification, the ability to wager on but the slightest gesture.

To be determined is a lecture weaving between these issues, accompanied by real-time images and texts generated by an Artificial Intelligence whose workings are tethered to its origins in the statistical space of analysis and prediction.
